In 2013, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office began its search to replace old style paper logbooks throughout its jail system. Finding no off-the-shelf applications available that could meet its needs as one of the fifty largest jails in the country, TCSO turned to Bill Rhyan and Rhyan Technology Services to develop a web-based electronic logbook and unit roster application that would integrate with the Agency’s jail management system. LogSoft was born out of this collaboration between Bill Rhyan and then TCSO Lieutenant Shane Poole and went live in July 2015 as TCSO’s permanent legal post log record.

Rhyan Technology Services, LLC was created in 1999. Rhyan Technology Services, LLC is an Austin based IT consulting and staffing firm founded by a group of experienced IT professionals with more than 45 years of combined experience in the industry. We have over twenty years of experience specifically within the State and Federal government IT arena. Rhyan Technology Services, LLC has sold IT professional services Texas state agencies, local governments, independent school districts, and institutions of higher education for over thirteen (13) years.

Shane Poole joined Rhyan Technology Services as the LogSoft Implementation and Consulting Director in 2019 after retiring from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office as the Administration and Support Bureau Major with 31 years of service as a corrections professional and peace officer. Shane brings a wealth of corrections experience with him as he analyzes our client’s needs, listens to their goals, and develops a “best fit” for the client through LogSoft that will not only meet, but exceed their expectations and that of their stakeholders. Additionally, Shane is a past president of the Texas Jail Association and a veteran who proudly served in Kuwait and Iraq, and retired from the United States Army Reserve in 2004.
